· 1998 First classroom in lower Peninsula to get internet via (Bresnan now Charter) cable modem
· 1998 Taught Computer Class for Alternative High School and Adult Education for Bay City Public Schools
· 1999 Wrote Information Technology Curriculum for Heritage High School –Saginaw Township Schools
· 1999 Taught Information Technology, Microsoft Office, Computer Repair and Networking, Programming and English at Heritage High School.
· 2000 Created a PC computer lab with donated computers from SVSU
· 2000 Set specifications for Michigan Teacher Technology laptop ( added RJ45 network jack- removed docking input)
· 2000 Worked with Doug Hansen on MASER math and science web resources
· 2000 Taught Computer Science for SVSU
2000 Predicted streaming video use for Internet 2 as part of K20 Advisory Committee
· 2001 Grant Reviewer for Michigan Department of Education
· 2001 Helped write Technology Standards and Benchmarks for Saginaw City Public Schools
· 2001 Developed technology professional development for teachers to support laptops
· 2001 Worked on Saginaw City Public Schools Technology Plan
· 2001 Worked on MITEL IP Phone system
· 2001 Started student Tech Corps and provided refurbished donated computers to Elementary schools and to Rubin Daniels Center.
· 2002 Provided donated computers to all elementary schools.
· 2002 Reorganized the district technology committee to better serve the needs of teachers
· 2003 Wrote Technology Standards and Benchmarks for Battle Creek Public Schools
· 2004 Started a new teacher support group
· 2004 Worked with One Economy and MI State University to provide poverty parents computers to help students with homework and to communicate with teachers via email
· 2005 My student Co-Op uses donated computers to set up a Linux Cluster and discover 2 new prime numbers
· 2005 Wrote Battle Creek Public Schools Technology Plan
· 2006 Developed K12 Virtual Library and presented at MACUL
· 2006 MSBO Certification in School Technology Management
· 2006 Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from SVSU
· 2007 Develop Technology for the Classroom Teacher for Miller College
· 2008 Hired as Iowa State Technology Director /Consultant
· 2008 Started first Iowa State Technology Listserv
· 2008 Serve on State Educational Technology Directors Association (SETDA)
· 2008 Attend ISTE National Conference in San Antonio, Texas
· 2009 Formed partnership with REACT center to provide refurbished computers to rural districts
· 2009 Partnered with Google and saved Iowa $14 million dollars in license fees
· 2009 Created a knowledge base with over 100 technology tutorials
· 2009 Wrote Iowa State Educational Technology Plan
· 2009 Attend ISTE National Convention in Washington D.C.
· 2009 Serve as statewide administrator for Adobe Connect Pro and provide training

· 2010 Under my leadership all Area Education Agencies and urban districts collaborated on a single grant project with common professional development with the focus of preparing teachers to teach online.

· 2011 worked with US Dept of Education on Teacher’s Guide to Evaluation of Technology in Classroom
· 2011 Coordinated Governor Brandstad’s Educational Summit for live video streaming and video taping (worked with IPTV (PBS), Eduvision and Iowa Events Center).

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
· 2011 Provided statewide training in Eduvision (Video editing, streaming and new features). Partnered with TechSmith to provide Camtasia Studio for training.
· 2011 Assigned to Direct Iowa 21st Century After School Programs (fixed compliance issues, started monthly webinars with grantees, increased site visits and revised grant application).
· Wrote 187 page Iowa State Educational Technology Report (for EETT and Ed Tech ARRA grants)
· 2012 Assigned to be Iowa State Technology Readiness Coordinator for Smarter Balance Assessments (will begin in 2014). Hope to align state data system with national readiness assessment to reduce data reporting burden on districts.


2013- Published the first State Report on Iowa Afterschool (87 pgs)
2013- Expanded partnerships to 4H clubs, HyVee and the Food Bank of Iowa.
2013 and 2018- Received Advocate of the Year Award for Afterschool
2013- Established the first Iowa Statewide Conference for AfterSchool
2017 - Partners in Education Award from Council Bluffs CSD
